If you're like most people, you know that estate planning is an important topic to discuss with an attorney, but either:

• you don't know who to speak with;
• you and your spouse cannot agree upon a guardian(s) for your minor children;
• you don't know if its worth the expense; and/or
• you're just a little 'spooked' to even broach the subject.

As a result, many people put this important task to the side. However, estate planning is simply too important a subject to ignore, as the repercussions (both non-tax and tax) for the failure to act can be significant.

It's all too easy to put estate planning at the end of your "to do" list. However, if you have children, you simply can't fall into this trap. You must step up to the plate and follow through on your estate planning. "Just do it!"
